The Good Friday Service consists of readings from scripture, prayers and a time to meditate on the cross. On Saturday at 7:00 pm we will celebrate the Great Vigil of Easter which is the great Easter experience for us. The service begins with the lighting of the New Fire that represents the victory in Christ of light and life over darkness and death. The Paschal Candle, lighted from the New Fire, symbolizes the Risen Christ and leads the procession into the darkened church where each person lights a candle from the Paschal Candle. Then, through several scripture readings we hear the Salvation story, from Genesis to Luke until we sing “Alleluia, Christ is risen, the Lord is risen indeed, Alleluia” and then the lights come on and we experience the wonder of the Resurrection. Come and join us in worship.
