Several local queens will be representing our area this weekend at the 2010 Miss Northwest Florida Pageant. The current Miss Northwest Florida, Stephanie Pettis of Marianna, will end her reign on Saturday, November 14th. The pageant will be held at the Bay Point Beach Resort on Panama City Beach Thursday, Nov. 12th, through Saturday, Nov. 14th. All shows start at 6:00 p.m. CST and tickets will be sold at the door. - Thursday Night ~ Press Conference Interviews, $5; Friday Night ~ Little Miss Northwest Florida Pageant, $8; Saturday Night ~ Teen and Miss Northwest Florida Pageants, $10.
The contestants will arrive Thursday morning for registration at 9am with Little Miss contestants going straight into Panel Interviews. The young women will spend most of the day in rehearsals before starting the competition with a press conference style interview Thursday evening that will be open to the public.
Following the press conference all contestants and families are invited to attend the one of a kind Pink Pajama Party, a benefit party for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation..(The Miss Northwest Florida Organization’s Official Charity) At this party contestants will take part in Mary Kay Pink Makeovers, Team building Games and Dancing, A Pink Pajama Fashion Show, and most importantly they will be turning in all monies they have raised throughout the past year for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Friday will be another busy day of rehearsals and Panel Interviews for the Teen and Miss Contestants starting at 9am. However, the girls get to take a break from all their hard work to attend a press luncheon hosted by Calypso Beach CafĂ© before it’s time for the Little Miss Pageant to begin.
Saturday begins with rehearsals again and ends a busy pageant week with the grand finale as a new Teen and Miss Northwest Florida will be crowned.
The Miss Northwest Florida Organization is directed by Jami Daniels and is open to residents of the 18 counties of northwest Florida, from Pensacola to Perry! The Official Charity of the Organization is the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and thus far the Miss NWFLO has raised several thousand dollars for this cause and the titleholders and volunteers involved with the organization have logged a combined several thousand hours of community service and appearances throughout the region.
The new titleholders will spend their year traveling throughout the region making appearances and raising awareness of the effects of Breast Cancer and other charitable causes. They will also be rewarded an amazing prize package which includes a Trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando!!!
