Traveling Man

Bryon Knight, 12 year old Great-Grandson of Tommy and Rosie Grainger has just returned from a 20 day trip to France, Italy, and Greece. Bryon was one of the 34 middle school students from Florida selected as a Delegate in the People to People Student Ambassador Program. This is an educational program founded my President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956. The organization has remained dedicated to the mission of promoting world peace through increasing understanding between the citizens of the world.
Over the past five decades eight U.S. Presidents have served as honorary chairman of People to People International. President John F. Kennedy, President Lyndon B. Johnson, President Richard M. Nixon, President Gerald R. Ford, President Ronald W. Reagan, President George H. W. Bush, President William J. Clinton, and President George W. Bush have supported the Student Ambassadors program.
Bryon is listed in the Who’s Who Registry of Academic Excellency (Middle School) for the past two years and spent a week in New York City and a week in Washington D.C. while he was a student at West Bay. Bryon attends Surf Side School in Panama City where he just completed 6th grade. He has been invited to Australia next year for the program. Along with the great opportunity of experiencing various places, and learning about the world around us, Bryon along with the other members of the program are also receiving high school and college credits for their time in this program.
