On Saturday, January 8th, an Officer with the Marianna Police Department was patrolling the area around The Friendly Corner Sports Bar on St. Andrews Street, when the sounds of gunshots were heard. The Officer alerted other Officers and a search began for a possible suspect. While Officers were canvassing the area, an Officer was almost struck head on by the suspect vehicle. The Officer had to take evasive movements to avoid a collision.
