Anthony Garrett, a junior at Florida State University, was recently elected to serve as a member of the FSU Student Senate, the Legislative Branch of the Student Government Association. He is shown at a recent meeting held in the chambers of the Florida House of Representatives. He was elected to the Student Senate in late October for a one-year term representing the FSU College of Arts and Sciences. He serves on the Budget Committee, which meets weekly to consider funding requests from student body organizations. The committee decides how funds are allocated.
He was also honored recently when selected for Torch Night recognition by the Garnet and Gold Key Leadership Honor Society. Garrett was named one of the 100 most outstanding incoming students in the FSU class of 2009-2010. These students are chosen in recognition of their high academic and leadership standards prior to coming to FSU. Anthony is remembered locally as one of the 2008-2009 State Brain Bowl Champions representing Chipola College on the Chipola Brain Team.
Anthony is the son of Gene Garrett of Greenwood, Florida.
