Last week Daun Crews, former Clerk of the Court in Jackson County stopped by the offices of the Jackson County Times. In his hands was a jar full of coins. Daun explained that every night he placed his loose change in this jar. While he was reading last week’s issue of the Times he noticed the “Pennies for Pencils campaign which is underway across the county. The fund is being generated for the purpose of buying school supplies for needy children in each county community.
Daun was touched by the thought of some children coming to school without basic supplies, so he graciously decided to bring his jar to our offices and donate the contents to the “Pennies For Pencils” fund…….Thank you, Daun Crews!
