BCF Trustees Approve New Student Housing And Additional Programs

At their pre-convention meeting in Graceville, trustees of The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) authorized construction of a new generation of student housing. Continuing its practice of building smaller, "home-style" residence halls the College will provide a new complex that will accommodate up to ten buildings with each housing fourteen students.
According to BCF President Tom Kinchen, "These buildings will provide outstanding space and amenities for our students. In addition to living space, the new development will provide green space for formal and informal activities. We have found that smaller residence halls give us the best opportunity to promote the strong sense of family that is vital to our campus life."
BCF Trustees also approved a new Certificate Program as well as a Dual Enrollment Program for the College. The Certificate Program will provide training for pastors and staff as well as lay leadership across the region. These programs can be established wherever local leadership has the desire for a program and an adequate number of students are willing to enroll. "These programs will provide top quality training for our people while providing flexible scheduling," stated Kinchen. The Dual Enrollment Program will provide interested high school juniors and seniors with the opportunity to take classes through the College while receiving both high school and college credit. Kinchen added, "We hope that this program will provide a strong opportunity especially for students in Christian schools to receive top quality, Christ centered education while gaining accelerated college placement."
