The Marianna High School Marching Band, The Pride, performed at the annual Florida Bandmasters Marching Band Music Performance Assessment on Friday, October 24, at Tommy Oliver Stadium, Panama City, Florida. The Pride was one of fifteen bands to participate from throughout District Two.
The Florida Bandmasters Association, in conjunction with the Florida School Music Association, sponsors non-competitive performance opportunities called Music Performance Assessments. These assessments provide opportunities for students and directors to perform in an environment which provides critical evaluation of its performance by noted experts in the field of band performance. In addition, the assessments give students and directors the opportunity to perform for their peers in a formal setting.
The band members received both written and taped comments from the professional judges who assessed their performance and gave them helpful comments and suggestions to improve their performance. MHS Band received an overall Superior rating for their performance. The rating of superior reflects the finest conceivable performance for the event and class of participants – worthy of the distinction of being recognized as among the very best. Congratulations to the Marianna High School Marching Band for their outstanding dedication and performance.
