JACKSON COUNTY’S LARGEST BACK-TO-SCHOOL FAIR

News Conference and Enrollment Fair Kicks off
Florida KidCare Back-to-School Campaign

On Saturday, August, 22nd, the greater Jackson County KidCare Coalition is bringing together Panhandle community leaders to join Florida House Representative Curtis Richardson, Rich Robleto, Executive Director of Florida Healthy Kids Corporation, Jackson County Health Department Administrator William Long, Jackson Hospital and others at a News Conference and Enrollment Fair to launch the 3rd Annual Florida KidCare Back-to-School health insurance sign-up campaign.
This is the largest event of its kind in Jackson County and is the local enrollment effort of University of South Florida’s Covering Kids and Families. The Jackson County event has special guest, local teacher Samantha Seigle, who will tell her story about how KidCare has helped her family.
At the News Conference, community leaders will discuss the need to provide health insurance to the Panhandle’s kids whose parents are either not offered health insurance through their jobs, or cannot afford the coverage that is offered. Over 500,000 Florida children are eligible to receive low-cost or free health care coverage through Florida KidCare, but are not enrolled.
After the brief News Conference, an Enrollment Fair will take place with staff on hand to assist families in applying for available health coverage programs, such as Florida KidCare. Free school supplies will be given to people applying for Florida KidCare at the Enrollment Fair while supplies last.
