CRAA Contributes $11k to Chipola Arts Program

10/9/08

The Chipola Regional Arts Association (CRAA) recently contributed $11,000 to Chipola College for support of arts programs.
CRAA president JoAnn Anderson presented two checks to college president Dr. Prough, one for $9,000 to support the 2008-09 Chipola Artist Series and a $2,000 donation for children’s programming in the district which included recent performances of Little Red Riding Hood presented by the Jacksonville Lyric Opera Company.
The Chipola Regional Arts Association (CRAA) exists to develop the appreciation and enjoyment of cultural arts in the five-county Chipola College district. In addition to sponsoring performances for children, the CRAA sponsors the annual Sunday Afternoon with the Arts, set for Nov. 2 in the Chipola Arts Center. CRAA also awards mini-grants to public and private teachers in the arts and is a major contributor of the Chipola Artist Series. The group also awards arts scholarships and contributes to other arts related projects. The public is invited to attend CRAA’s monthly program meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at Jim’s Buffet in Marianna.
